C.P.B.C Honor’ former Champion Doug Harper.

Today the C.P.B.C. honored former Canadian Light Heavyweight Champion Doug Harper. It was a pleasure for the the C.P.B.C. to honor this former Canadian Champion who in his prime days fought the boxing legend Yvon Durelle 3 times winning 1 loosing 1 and a draw on the other. Special thanks to C.P.B.C. Representative Jamie Taylor for helping this happen and also thank you to Chris Ladouceur for being so patient for getting the timing right and also a very special thank you to C.P.B.C. representative Scotty ( the bulldog) Olson for taking the time to be there for this great moment.

R I P Wayne Cormier

Boxingnewscanada would like to offer condolences to the family and close friends of Wayne (Punchy ) Cormier who passed away late Saturday night at the Moncton Hospital.
Wayne was a well known fighter in the Moncton area and very well liked by many. He will be sadly missed. R I P Champ.

R I P Adrian Teodorescu

Boxing loss another one of its mentors, Adrian Teodorescu passed away suddenly. Known as the master coach by some of the fighters he trained and passed on knowledge too. His years and years of dedication to the sport of boxing will be remembered for years to come. He leaves behind a legacy of helping young fighters reach their dreams but most of all Adrian was a friend also and they shared many laughs with him. He will be sadly missed to many pupils he inspired. May he rest in peace.

Rememberance Day

Dominic “Dominator” Babineau

December 2nd Edmonton Boxing fans will be able to see a young Canadian rising star in professional boxing.

Dominic currently stands at 6 and 0 as a pro in the ring. He will square off against another rising star from western Canada Justin Hocko . Hocko currently stands with a professional record of 3 wins 0 losses and 2 draws. Hocko is coming off a recent win October 28 in Winnipeg.

Domenic made his pro debut in March 2014 in front of his hometown crowd and made short work of his opponent David McQuaker with a 1st round stoppage at Casino NB. His second win came November 28, 2015 in Dartmouth at the Sportsplex when he fought a very game young boxer from Nova Scotia named Jesse Macmillan . The two battled it out over 6 rounds and Dominic picked up the UD winning the Atlantic Canadian C.P.B.C Title Super featherweight division . A few months later March 19, 2016 in Moncton at the Lions club Dominic totally dominated mma fighter turned boxer Brad Young in his debut with a KO in the first round. Two months later May 14th 2016 at the Atkin Center in Fredericton would see Babineau vs Mac MIllan 2 in which would have a different outcome then their first fight. Dominic scored an impressive win via tko this outing in Fredericton putting him at 4 and 0 . Moncton NB June 25th Dominic Babineau scored a KO win over Keegan Oliver in front of his home town crowd. His last and most recent fight took place October 15th in Fredericton NB with a 6 round UD win over Cristian Rodrigo Gonzalez in front of over 3000 fans .

Dominic has an impressive amateur background as a 2 time Canadian Champion and also a Canada Games Gold medalist. He has been boxing since 12 yrs of age under the guidance of his Coach Phil Baraly at Baraly’s Rival Boxing Gym in Moncton NB. Dominic has a new passion for the sport as a professional and is a rising star on the scene. He is gathering a huge fan base here in the Maritimes and what people like most about him is his skills and ability as well as his demeanor inside and outside of the boxing ring. Johnny Devison Honored

The C.P.B.C. had the pleasure Saturday Night of Honoring right in his home town of Saskatoon Johnny Devison with the C.P.B.C. Lifetime Champion Award.
During the Intermission C.P.B.C. representative Jamie Taylor called to the ring Mr. Johnny Devison to make the presentation to him. Johnny a former Bantam-weight Canadian Champion has been in the sport for many many years in many aspects of it and continues to stay involved. On behalf of the C.P.B.C. and all its members it was a pleasure honoring you Mr. Devison. Thanks for all you have done and accomplished in the sport of professional boxing
